For community

Build a wider table, one conversation at a time.

Invite people by link and let each person speak more naturally.

Schools, volunteer groups, faith communities and local organisations often have one person who needs to talk and another who speaks a different language. VoiceCallTranslator gives that conversation a room: a one-to-one voice call where each person speaks their own language and hears the other translated, joined from a link with nothing to install.

Conversations it helps with

A teacher and a parent who does not speak the school's language, talking about how a child is doing.

A volunteer checking in with a newly arrived family about housing, school places or the week ahead.

A mentor and a mentee, a coach and a player, or a pastor and a parishioner who are more at ease in different languages.

Neighbours welcoming someone new, without waiting for an interpreter to be free.

How to set it up for your organisation

Each room belongs to the person who creates it and holds two people. A coordinator can create a room for each ongoing conversation, one per family for example, and name it so it is easy to find again.

Send the link by WhatsApp, text message or email. The person you invite opens it in their browser, types their name and joins. They never need an account and are never charged.

Time comes from the host's prepaid minutes and is counted only while both people are connected. Minutes never expire, so an organisation that makes a few calls a month pays only for those.

Limits

Two people per room. For a meeting of a whole group, it is not the right tool.

Machine translation is good for conversation. For legal advice, immigration matters, medical questions or anything where a mistake could harm someone, use a professional interpreter.

We never record your call. It is encrypted in transit, not end to end.

Common questions

Does the person I invite need an app or an account?

No. They need a phone, tablet or computer with a browser and a data connection. There is nothing to install and nothing to pay.

Can several volunteers use it?

Yes. Each volunteer can create their own account and rooms. Each room holds two people at a time.

Which languages are available?

The languages in the room's language menu. The current list is on the Languages page.
