For family

Be there in the language that feels like home.

Share a room link for the conversations that should never feel distant.

VoiceCallTranslator lets two people who do not share a language talk on a voice call in their own words. You speak English and your mother-in-law hears you in Spanish; she answers in Spanish and you hear her in English. She joins from a link on her phone, with nothing to install and no account to create.

How a family call works

You create a room once, give it a name, and choose the language you speak. You can choose theirs as well, or leave it for them to pick when they join.

Send the link the way your family already talks: WhatsApp, a text message or email. The link keeps working until you close the room, so they can save it and use the same one every week.

They tap it, type their name, allow the microphone, and they are in. Each of you speaks normally and hears the other translated a moment later. The original voice has its own volume beside the translation, so you can keep hearing the person, not only the words, and every sentence appears in the transcript in both languages in case one slips past.

The calls it is made for

The weekly call with grandparents who never learned English, or never learned the language the grandchildren now speak at school.

Getting to know a partner's parents before you have learned their language, and afterwards, on the days the words still do not come.

Keeping a child close to relatives abroad, each in the language they are comfortable in.

The long catch-up with a relative whose English is fine for small talk but tires by the second hour.

Before the first call

Try it once when nothing is at stake. A five-minute hello is enough to learn the rhythm: each sentence is translated just after it is spoken, so short pauses help, and talking over each other does not.

Every new account starts with free minutes, so the first calls cost nothing. Only you, the host, ever pay. Your family never needs an account or a card.

What to expect

It is machine translation. It handles everyday conversation well and now and then gets a word, a name or a joke wrong. When something sounds odd, say it again another way, as you would with a patient relative.

We never record your call. It is encrypted on its way to us and back, but it is not end-to-end encrypted, because the translator has to hear you to translate you.

Common questions

Does my family need to install an app?

No. They open the link in the browser on their phone or computer. They do not create an account and they are never charged.

Can we use the same link every week?

Yes. A room's link keeps working until you close the room, so you can send it once and use it for every call.

What does a family call cost?

Only the time both of you are connected is counted, from prepaid minutes that never expire. New accounts start with free minutes, and the host is the only one who pays.
